Cheesy Ground Beef Sauté

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add diced onion and sauté until translucent and starting to caramelize, about 7 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Increase heat to medium-high, add ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  • Cook until beef is browned and cooked through, about 8 minutes; season with black pepper.
  • Reduce heat to low and evenly sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
  • Cover the skillet and let cheese melt for 3–4 minutes.
  • Serve warm, optionally with a side of your choice.
