Cheesy Ground Beef Sauté

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add diced onion and sauté until translucent and starting to caramelize, about 7 minutes.
Add minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute until fragrant.
Increase heat to medium-high, add ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula.
Cook until beef is browned and cooked through, about 8 minutes; season with black pepper.
Reduce heat to low and evenly sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the beef mixture.
Cover the skillet and let cheese melt for 3–4 minutes.
Serve warm, optionally with a side of your choice.
