In a large bowl, combine ground beef, eggs, dry bread crumbs, ketchup, MSG, warm water, and dry onion soup mix.
Mix ingredients gently with your hands or a spoon until well combined but not overworked.
Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a baking dish or loaf pan.
Pour tomato sauce evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
Lay the bacon slices on top of the tomato sauce for a flavorful crust.
Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
